Support the Ekine Family

The Ekine family, my mom Florence, my sisters Stefanie and Jennifer, my baby niece Jemina, and the dog Oscar, lost their home on October 28 due to electrical-sparked fires that swept through the house in the wee hours of the morning.

With little time to spare, they ran for their lives, without grabbing anything, they were able to get in one of the vehicles and back away from the burning home.
They were all in bed when the fire occurred and left the house with barely any clothing. 
In the moment of escaping the flames, they could not find their 8-year-old dog Oscar, and were worried about him.
After an hour of the fire fighters fighting the flames as best as they could, Oscar was found, rescued, and brought to my family, who were sitting and waiting in the vehicle.
The home was completely destroyed by the fire, along with all of their belongings, personal possessions, and the second vehicle.





Florence is retired and 5 years cancer free, and is also on disability.
Stefanie is almost 8 months pregnant, with a 16-month old baby Jemina, and a college student.
Jennifer is the youngest and also a college student.
Oscar, our one and only furry pet; currently has been coughing and sneezing from all that smoke inhalation. He will be taken to the vet for checkups.

This Go Fund Me page was started to help The Ekine Family start over.  They are committed to rebuilding but they need our help.  Please help us stand together with this lovely family as they work to pick up their lives and start over. All of the funds will go to help them rebuild and take care of immediate expenses while they put their lives back together.

Without having home insurance to replace any of the items lost in the fire, The Ekine Family are relying on friends, family, well-wishers for financial support during these hard and unforeseen times.

The funds donated will be used towards the items listed below:
- Temporary Housing.
- Furniture, bedding, linens, kitchen ware and other household items.
- Clothes and personal hygiene items.
- Baby clothes, food, diapers, wipes, basinet, crib, toys, and all the baby accessories that were destroyed in the fire.
- Purchase of another vehicle for Jennifer to be able to go to school and work.
- Laptops that were used for school by both Stefanie and Jennifer.
- Veterinary bill for Oscar, since he has no health insurance.
- Replacing items that were destroyed by the fire.
