Support the Escobar Family in their time of need

Hello friends and family,

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our beloved grandmother, Maria Escobar. Her loss has deeply affected us all. Over the past 2 months, our mother Mirna has been caring for her in El Salvador, which has caused her to lose her job here in the States, leaving the rest of our family to maintain the household, financially. Our dad, Nahun Sr was out there to support her for a month, also leaving him with a financial strain. Everyone left in the household (Karen, Kamila, Nahun Jr) have had to take initiative to pay bills and send money to our parents, causing us to run through our savings.

Our grandma played a vital role in our lives, raising us during our childhood while our parents worked to provide for us. She was like another parent in the house. A few years ago, as her health began to decline, she expressed the desire to spend her final years in her hometown of Jocoro, Morazan, El Salvador. She found happiness there, and we are grateful she was cared for until her health took a severe turn.

A couple of months ago, she stopped eating and drinking, and eventually became mute. At that time, our mother flew out to be by her side during her final days. On 9/24, we received the heartbreaking news that our grandmother’s suffering had come to an end, and she passed away peacefully. With this bad news, Mirna hasn’t been feeling well and the stress has caused her to struggle in her mental and physical health. So as a family, we made the decision to drop everything and head out to El Salvador to be there to support her as she puts her mother to rest.

Maria was a strong and faithful believer in Christ, and we trust that God has a place for her in heaven. While her loss is deeply felt, we find comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering and is with the Lord.

Any donations will be used towards funeral expenses, house bills, travel expenses and getting back on our feet. Any funds that we accumulate in this Go Fund Me will be tithed to Discovery Church’s Unstoppable Initiative. We sincerely appreciate any help or prayers extended to us during this time.
