Support the family of Latoya Johnson
Donation protected
On May 29th, 2023 my mother, Latoya Johnson, suddenly passed from an unknown health complication while on duty as a Police Communications Operator at the Chicago Office of Emergency Management.
Latoya was the youngest of 5 siblings. She is survived by her three children, a son and two daughters. She loved true crime podcasts, baking, singing off-key and dancing off-beat. She also recently completed EMT Course Training in the hopes of earning more at the OEMC Fire Department to better support her family. Latoya had nothing but kindness and generosity for those that knew her, and will forever be missed by her friends and family.
Her youngest children, 20 and 17, still lived with her at the time of her death. I, Alexee, will be entering my fourth year of college, and my sister will be entering her senior year of high school this fall. I am pursuing a BFA in Art Education and my sister wishes to pursue a pre-med track in college. Our mom always emphasized the importance of our education and tried her best to support us in school while working full-time night shifts. We both want to graduate to honor her wish.
Any donations will be used toward funeral arrangements, living expenses, and to support our education. Donations can also be sent directly through PayPal (@okrella) or Venmo (@aaitken). We appreciate any form of support during this transition. Whether by donating, sharing this page, or offering kind words, we thank you.
