Support the Family of Rene Livingston-DeTienne

Our beloved Rene Livingston-DeTienne (also known as the poet R.B. Simon), passed away unexpectedly the week of January 6th, leaving behind her spouse, Dannee Livingston-DeTienne, daughters Emerson Livingston-DeTienne & Noelle Livingston, her chosen family, and a whole community of people whose lives she touched in both small and monumental ways. Rene wore heart on her sleeve, and those that know her know that she was compassionate and fierce but also kind. She saved so many lives in her work as an advocate for those who use drugs (working on liberatory harm reduction strategies and meeting people where they were at) and was also a strong advocate for the mental health, disability, BIPOC, queer, and fat liberation communities.

Rene touched so many lives and while her collective community grieves Rene, we also want to support Rene's family as they process this tremendous loss and plan for Rene's funeral and celebration of life arrangements (more details to come on the celebration of life arrangements closer to February or March).

This is a devastating time for Dannee, Noelle, and Emerson, and in order to allow them the space to grieve while lessening the strain of financial concerns in the wake of Rene's passing, please consider donating to help support this family during their time of need.
