Support the Fitzgerald Family After Tragic Loss
Donation protected
Michael Thomas Fitzgerald, 58, a resident of Fishkill and formerly of Yonkers, died on November 27, 2024 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
This unexpected tragedy has taken a huge toll on his family not only emotionally but financially. The friends and family have organized this gofundme and ask for support during this difficult time this holiday season.
To learn more about the profound impact Michael had on his friends, family, and his entire community, please read his obituary below.
Michael proudly served our country in the US Army and was employed as a firefighter with the City of White Plains for 26 years.
Michael is survived by his wife, Ann Strazzula. Together since 15 and going to the prom, they did everything side by side and have enjoyed going to the movies, attending concerts, vacationing, and searching for “deals” at all the flea markets.
He is also survived by his two daughters Amanda and Samantha. Michael was his girls’ biggest supporter whether on the field, on a court, or in the classroom. He had the honor of coaching their softball teams and was so proud to see them graduate and receive a doctoral and masters degree. To his daughters, he was not just “dad” but also chauffeur, financial advisor, comedic relief, and always the person to ask if you wanted something you thought mom might say no to (including dying your hair).
His personality was larger than life, always the loudest person in the room. He loved to spend time with family and friends. His friend group stayed the same throughout his life, always telling wild stories about the time spent with them.
Mike was an animal lover and leaves behind his only “son”, Smushy. Mike and Smushy went on walks together, watched the Price is Right and Let’s Make A Deal, and cuddled each night.
Michael was a very special person to many, he will always be everyone’s protector - the best husband, father, big brother, uncle, and friend.
Again, any support you can give during this difficult time is appreciated.
