Hello, we are the Gadea Family, a family of 10 who called Altadena home for the past year and a half, hoping it would finally be our forever home after enduring many challenges. Tragically, we recently faced one of the hardest moments of our lives. The Eaton Canyon fire in Altadena took our home, along with everything we held dear: our clothes, devices, work tools, food, and most importantly, the memories that made our house a home.
In the early hours of the morning, at 4:00 AM, we made the difficult decision to evacuate as thick smoke began to fill our home. We left with what little we could carry, praying for safety as we arrived at the shelter. Even in those uncertain hours, we held onto hope and began planning how we might protect what was left of our home.
Later that day, we returned to check on it, only to be stopped by police just a few houses away. Hours later, when we were finally able to go back, our worst fears were realized: everything was gone.
Despite this loss, we are deeply grateful for the safety of our family. We know that many others in our community are experiencing similar hardships, and our hearts go out to them. We ask that you join us in praying for their safety and strength just as we are praying for our own.
If you feel moved to support us, we would be forever thankful. Any help will go toward rebuilding our lives thank you. Your kindness means more to us than words can express. May God bless you and your loved ones.
