Merry Christmas to us.. :(
Today, 12/25/24, while away for the holidays, our home in Washington caught fire and is no longer habitable. My mom (67) owned the home for 34 years and lived there with myself (32), my dog (13), and my brothers (34 & 30).
As this day (Christmas) is supposed to bring happiness and joy, it’s brought us much suffering and we lost everything.
We have lost our home, our house, all of our belongings including beds, furniture, clothing, blankets, food, family heirlooms, and everything that had familial value. Not only are we asking for help for rebuilding a life, also for any vet bills associated with the fire that my dog is going to have. The vet will check his vitals for free, but any treatment after that can be upwards of $1000-5000. I am hoping and praying he didn’t inhale too much smoke.
Thankful for our neighbors who acted quickly when they saw smoke coming from our home and started spraying water in through the window and door before the fire department arrived. We can’t thank them enough for their brave acts rushing into the yard, and getting right to work. Even though the fire had engulfed inside of the house, they did what they could while waiting for help.
Any help is greatly appreciated for my family. Much love from the Healey family while we navigate this difficult time of disaster.
