Help Rebuild The Bush Farmhouse – A Beacon of Hope in Black Mountain, NC
The town of Black Mountain, NC, has been devastated by the unprecedented force of Hurricane Helene, a once-in-500-year storm. This community now faces overwhelming destruction—power and water outages across town, entire neighborhoods with no cell or internet service, and many homes and businesses completely wiped out. Tragically, several lives have been lost, and countless families are left with nothing. The scale of devastation is unlike anything we’ve ever experienced.
Important Information about how funds are raised, handled and distributed to The Henegan Family:
- We're Ruen Ellis and Chris Campos, part-time residents of Black Mountain and long-time friends of Mark Henegan, and the Henegan Family. We've known Mark for over 18 years and we also do design work for The Bush Farmhouse.
- We're raising funds for the recovery efforts and rebuilding of The Bush Farmhouse. Once the campaign is complete, GoFundMe will transfer the funds raised directly to Mark Henegan's bank account.
- The Beneficiary of this campaign is Mark Henegan, owner of The Bush Farmhouse, located at 151. S.Ridgeway Av, Black Mountain, NC 28711.
Like so many in Black Mountain, The Bush Farmhouse , a family-owned restaurant run by Mark Henegan and his sons, Skyler and Troy, has been severely damaged by unprecedented floods. The Henegans have poured their hearts into creating a welcoming space for the community—whether by hosting charity events for local causes or simply being a gathering place for neighbors to connect. Over the years, their generosity has touched the lives of so many, both in Black Mountain, Montreat, and beyond. Now, they need our help.
Hurricane Helene struck with unprecedented force, and like many here, The Bush Farmhouse had no flood insurance. With little to no warning, everything they've worked so hard to build is at risk of being lost.
We are raising funds to help the Henegan family rebuild and bring back the place that has been a vital part of our community for years. They have always been there for us—now it’s our turn to be there for them.
