As some of you may know, my best friend Aarika’s father, Rob was diagnosed with colon cancer a few years ago. In 2020, COVID prevented him from his annual check up with his oncologist.
In 2021, doctors informed Aarika and her father that the cancer had spread to his liver and his diagnosis became terminal. Aarika quickly took her father in to care for and support him during his aggressive, biweekly treatment.
Since moving in with Aarika and despite chemo therapy, Mr. Hoffner’s cancer worsened and spread to his bones. After spending a better part of the Christmas holiday in the hospital and fighting through excruciating pain, Aarika’s father has been placed on hospice.
Aarika did not hesitate to move her father in with her and be his number one support. Over the last year and a half, Aarika has continued to work full time while providing for her father; emotionally, physically and financially. Aarika is the strongest, selfless and most caring person I have the pleasure of knowing.
Funds raised will directly support Mr. Hoffner’s care and ultimate arrangements.
It would be a blessing for the Hoffner family to spend the remaining time they have with their father without the added financial stress.
Please consider donating any amount to help in Rob’s fight.
