Support the Keahna family as Bo fights for his life.

My name is Frances Keahna.
My nephew Sean Keahna Jr. (a.k.a Bo) began to fall ill on June 29th. He visited the clinic on Monday, July 1st, where they prescribed him an antibiotic for pneumonia. On July 4th, he went to the ER for breathing issues where he was diagnosed with a progressive form of pneumonia and sepsis. From there, he was transported to an intensive care unit. They immediately started antibiotics and fluids, but his body was too tired to fight and required to be intubated, which is a form of life support that helps to push air in and out of your lungs so your body can get the oxygen it needs. Bo was aware that this was an option and tried so hard to fight this infection on his own. He has been on a ventilator for three days now; he is medically paralyzed and in a medically induced coma so that his lungs have a chance to heal. Since he has been intubated, there have been a few setbacks. His kidneys began to fail and he developed an irregular heartbeat due to the infection, which they are treating with meds and continuous dialysis. Bo continues to show us signs that he is still fighting for his life, and we continue to show him that we have not given up this challenging battle.
We are reaching out to everyone for support, thoughts, and prayers. Any generous donation will help us cover the costs of his mother staying at the hospital until he is released ($35 a day), food and gas for the family as he is located about an hour away from Tama. Doctors at this point predict that Bo will remain on the ventilator in ICU for a minimum of two weeks.
Any remaining funds will be given to Bo as he has a long road to recovery and will not be able to immediately return to work.
Thank you for your time & consideration

Update (7/9/2024)
Bo has has been stable, not better, not worse. The plan today was to wake up him to check on his mental state which is standard procedure in patients in a medically induced coma, but as they were weaning him off of the sedation medication, his body was not able to handle it. They will try again.
Keep Bo in your thoughts & prayers as he is still fighting & not giving up. We will not give up fighting for our Bo!!
Thank you all for your support

Update (7/12/24)
We have great, great news!! Bo woke up a little bit this morning & responded to a couple commands then went back to sleep ❤️
His body finally processed how it was supposed to so he will be going off of dialysis TODAY
He is currently on the c-pap machine & if he continues to do well then he will be off of the ventilator for good.
Also, he finally moved his body intentionally so physical therapy will start tomorrow.
Such a refreshing start to the day!! He’s coming back to us
Thank you for all of your thoughts & prayers
