Support the King Family's Hurricane Recovery efforts.

It was really hard for me to put this together, but the longer I have had time to think about the recovery efforts our family has to make, the more I know - I need help. I have set up this GoFundMe to support our family Eric, Felice, Shane (14), Sofia (12), and Sila (5) with our recovery efforts from Hurricane Helene. We live in Fairview, NC in Echo Valley Estates on Bear Trail.

On Friday, September 27th, we lost power in the early morning hours due to the hurricane, wind, and rain. That morning, Shane went outside to get some solar lights out of the driveway and was greeted with what he said was a 10-foot tidal wave of mud, boulders, and uprooted trees. He told me he saw our neighbor's mailbox shoot out of the road and ran as fast as he could. He ran fast inside, and we screamed as we saw our cars move and float away and our yard turn into a lake of logs and debris, and in an instant, it stopped. We prayed and thanked God for watching over us and prayed for His continued protection. After the hurricane, we lost our entire road, our driveway is used for the neighborhood, our cars, and had a mudslide hit our garage pretty bad, but by the grace of God, we are alive and safe.

We have not had power or water for over two weeks and evacuated to live with my sister to give our kids some normalcy for the time being. Eric has been out of work to help care for the kids while I work, and we are planning to go back to rebuild what we can one day at a time. We have filed and requested all the help we can, but as of today, no help has arrived to support us, only promises, but we are hopeful it just takes time. Our plan is to use the support to get our driveway back that has been cracked and culverts repaired so that our neighbors can get to their home safely. We hope to do muck out mud removal, cleaning, mold removal, groceries, secure a vehicle, road repair, log removal, etc. Thank you so much for any support; no gift is too small for our family.
