Hi!!

This is Julie and Steve Kinnaird. They are 2 adventurous, loving, badass people with two incredibly loving and ALSO badass daughters, Tori and Brynn. They live in Beamsville, and Tori lives here in Hamilton.

These past 2 weeks Tori has been off work sick with what we thought was the flu, which turned into pneumonia and has since been hospitalized with high fevers and breathing complications. Due to the unknown amount of time that Tori will be there, Julie and Steve need to be there with her. Unfortunately, they don't have the benefits to cover this necessary time off work, so I wanted to reach out to the community and our friends to help relieve some of their financial stress and worry. Everything is appreciated even just some love!

Update from the family:

I'm not normally a very emotional person. I've been shedding a lot of tears this past weekend though. Tears due to fear. Tears due to hope, and small victories. Most recently, tears due to the kindness and generosity of friends, family, and complete strangers.

Julie and I are blown away by the overwhelming amount of help, offers of help, kind words, love, and now financial assistance we've been receiving.

The possible financial burden to Tori from this was a concern of ours from the start. "Don't worry about it" we said. "We'll just give you whatever you need." (Our immediate plan was to take whatever she required from a line of credit). We then focused on Tori's health, but knowing we'd have to "find" the money eventually was always there right behind it.

Tori has always been a huge source of pride for us. We're proud of what she's accomplished. We're proud of the things she does. Mostly, though, we're proud of the person she is.

This pride in her was galvanized today, by the sheer number of people she's obviously touched in a positive way.
