Support the Knipp Family's Recovery Journey

Donation protected
This GoFundMe was created to bless the Knipp family and support Josh and Caleb's recovery. All proceeds will go to the Knipp family directly to help them cover the costs of living and to prepare for life without a steady income.

Josh Knipp served faithfully as the Senior Pastor of Bloomington Bible Church for over 12 years. As the founding Pastor, Josh planted the church in Bloomington, Indiana shortly after graduating from Faith Bible Seminary. He and his family loved the church well and cared for many souls. In fact, if you are reading this, it is likely that you have been impacted, directly or indirectly, by the Knipps’ ministry. I, myself, would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for Josh’s love and care for me.

By God’s grace many have grown to understand the gospel and orient their lives to serve Him. God has done a great work through Josh, changing lives and marriages for the glory of God for years.

Yet, in God’s providence, Josh and Caleb (their second son) became sick in late 2021 with long COVID. Even after many doctors’ appointments, no help has been found. Many of us are not familiar with this disease, so I encourage you to read more about it here.

Josh's condition has debilitated him to the point that he has not been able to work for the past two years. There are days when he is bed-bound. Often a small degree of exertion takes an incapacitating toll on his body.

While Josh tried to press on in his position as the Pastor of BBC, in late 2023 it became clear to him that he would not be able to recover while being our Senior Pastor. He stepped down from his position in January of this year. While the church has worked to care for their needs and is providing severance pay through February 2025, the Knipps still face some difficult decisions for the next year and beyond.

At the moment, Josh is applying for disability, but they are facing the prospect of years without a stable income. His wife, Rachel, has worked tirelessly to have some savings to rely on once severance ends, but she also needs to be home to care for her sick family. They are trusting in the LORD to provide and guide them, but financial pressures weigh heavily on them.

We know that God can provide through many different avenues. We also know that many people love Josh, Rachel, and their family and long to do something to help. We created this fundraiser to give everyone an opportunity to come alongside the Knipps in this trying season.

Even though this has been going on for a while, we have decided to start a GoFundMe for them now because the financial pressures are leading them to consider hard steps, like selling their home (among other things). They have incurred large medical costs already and will likely face more costs in the future that are not covered by insurance. Any financial help at this time could be instrumental in helping them make informed decisions about how to care for their family and free them from this financial burden.

Please prayerfully consider donating to this cause to see the Knipps get to a point where their recovery is not hindered by the financial strains that they face. All donations will go a long way in helping the Knipps in this next season of waiting. If you have any questions, please feel free to call or text me and I would love to give you more information.
