Support The Lancaster Family During a Hard Time

A message from mom:
Oct 29th after two months of appointments and unexplained vomiting the doctors found a huge tumor in the posterior fossa on my sons, Declan’s brain. He had an exterior ventricular drain placed instead of a shunt within 12 hours and then 48 hours later he had an emergency craniotomy. They removed the entire tumor and after testing it is only a WHO grade one benign pilocytic astrocytoma. I spoke with the social worker at the hospital and there is not much assistance for children whose tumors are not cancerous, so they do see a divide between brain, tumor and brain cancer, which I find wild. It is very hard to find help and assistance for brain, tumor survivors and their families.
I am living in the hospital with Declan again and in the last four weeks we’ve only been out of the hospital for two of them. I am on unpaid leave which keeps my job safe, and my husband is working but he can only work a straight 40 hours which doesn’t allow him to work the overtime he needs to work to get the extra money in. We’ve always been a two-income household and an unpaid leave is quite difficult when only one parent is working. We don’t love asking for money. We’re usually the ones giving it. Everything is adding up right now and it's very overwhelming. Our youngest son, Callum still needs to attend daycare when my husband works so he can keep some semblance of a normal life as well.
Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in Advance
