The importance of youth athletics is becoming more evident as the generations pass. As youth athletics and developmental training evolve with strength, conditioning, and the academic role, the requirements and obligations further evolve with it.
The Lions Den Athletic Group was officially founded in the summer of 2024. It all began with a casual conversation among parents. Then, 4 fathers rallied with the guidance of an intelligent head coach, sharing wisdom, knowledge of the track and field sport, and ultimately realizing the love and importance of the young athletes.
Starting a new organization (youth athletic team) in this day and age, that will provide quality training for the young athletes and entirely benefit the athlete, is a challenge within itself. Additionally, being able to maintain a presence within the realm the athletes deserve to perform in, based on their efforts and dedication, is another unimaginable challenge as well.
Countless hours of meetings, planning, and seeking resources immediately took place. Despite the cancer battle our head coach faced, our core values were truly displayed (perseverance and resiliency).
The Lion’s Den Athletic Group was finally created. What initially aspired to be just a track and field team is now in the final stages of becoming a full non-profit organization, with the emphasis on serving the youth athletic development needs, along with other life, mental health, and spiritual development. Also playing a role in not only youth track and field, but also aspirations in other sports (cross country, indoor track and field, soccer, baseball, softball, etc...).
The Lions Den Athletic Group vows to always remain transparent, selfless, and professional.
There were many of our other athletes who had just returned from the outdoor Junior Olympics in North Carolina in July 2024. Many quickly then transitioned into the cross-country competition and also traveled to another Junior Olympic competition in Indiana, in the middle of December 2024.
Lastly, the Lions Den Athletic Group, as a whole organization, competed in their first official track and field invitational (Reno Holiday Indoor Invitational) in Nevada, late December of 2024.
The anticipation and excitement are unmatched, especially observing the full fruition of the dedication and efforts of the young athletes.
As the team continues to train and develop our young athletes to develop life skills during the outdoor season, we have come to realize the financial obligation of managing a sports organization. Not only the development of the athletes but the management and administration aspects from administration, coaches, and parents as well.
Track and field, let alone the continuance and combination with cross-country, indoor track and field, and other strength and conditioning, can become a burden to the loving and supporting families.
The GoFundMe is being created to generate funds immediately, as our non-profit status finalizes. The assistance through the GoFundMe donations will minimize the delay of obtaining any needs for our athletes throughout the season (food, equipment, travel expenses, uniforms, etc.) because most importantly, their participation and proper preparation matter most.
The Lions Den Athletic Group is asking for any help, donation, and assistance. However slight, we are sincerely appreciative, and this will legitimately establish and further maintain our presence as an organization.
For any considering large donations and seeking tax write-off needs, our EIN is pending. Please contact the Lions Den Athletic Group at any time for tax and EIN purposes. Once processed, the EIN is available anytime upon request.
Thank you for your time, efforts, and consideration. The Lions Den Athletic Group looks forward to the continued support, supporting, and developing our youth.
