Support The Little Red Hen Opera

Hi, I’m Spencer

I’m a composer, performer, and educator and I’m currently pursuing my Masters in Music Composition here at Peabody.

I’ve been performed by such groups as JACK Quartet, members of FLUX Quartet, and my own ensemble, Der Gestanke. I aim to make music that is interdisciplinary, multi-dimensional, and ultimately deeply personal. I’m writing to you today to ask for your help in raising funds for my next big project: an opera of The Little Red Hen to honor the 150th anniversary year of Margaret Mapes Dodge’s classic fable.

So here’s the rundown:

I’m teaming up with members from Der Gestanke – namely, the incredibly talented Rose Hegele, Brian Stuligross, Athos Maelstrom, Jonathan Villegas, and Daniel Nerger – as well as current Peabody students and alumni to rehearse, perform, and record the opera in November of this year. But we can’t do it alone. We need your help. If we can get 1000 people to each donate $6 to this project, we can make this opera happen!! The money would go towards:

If you donate $20 or more to this project, you’ll receive a Zoom Link to our final rehearsal on November 15th to see everything live!

If you donate $100 or more to this project, we’ll also send you a free file of the live performance when available AND your name will appear in a list of Major Donors that will be in all program notes in performances and online uploads of the work (where applicable)!

If you donate over $200 we’ll also send you a personalized autographed copy of the score by the composer, conductor, and all performers!
