Support the Lyon Family

Mrs. Lyon, a beloved special education teacher at Madison, was in a serious car accident on Sunday and sustained a significant injury to her leg and ankle, including multiple fractures requiring surgery and a long road to recovery.

For those of you who don’t have the incredible privilege of knowing the Lyons, to say Drew and Monique have incredible hearts for service is an understatement. Monique goes above and beyond to ensure her (incredible) students with disabilities receive all of the love and support they need to have an outstanding education at Madison Elementary (often well before/after hours), and Drew works to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children across Kosciusko County at DCS. The Lyons also have adorable two-year-old and four-year-old sons.

Mrs. Lyon started at Madison seven years ago and has been a teacher in the community since 2016. Over her seven years at Madison, she has served hundreds of students with love and care that is truly unmatched. She is also an integral part of the Madison Leadership Team, co-leads the Madison Behavior RTI Team for students who may be struggling behaviorally in the classroom, is a leader on the Crisis Prevention Team, and is always more than willing to lend a hand whenever she is needed. We are incredibly fortunate to have Mrs. Lyon at Madison. She is part of what makes Madison the extra special place that it is!

With servant hearts and careers come servant salaries. Prior to the accident, the Lyons had one family car. Due to the accident, they are currently without a vehicle.

This GoFundMe aims to alleviate any financial burden during this trying time, such as the costs associated with Mrs. Lyon’s medical care, transportation, surgeries, and physical therapy, and we are reaching out to you for support. She, as well as her husband, Drew, will need to be out of work during certain parts of her recovery in order to provide support.
