Support the Mahmoud-Nishio Family after Eaton Canyon Fire
Donation protected
Akko and Eugene are pillars of the Pasadena and Altadena community. For 2 years they have been teaching the Afro-Brazilian Martial Art of Capoeira for the youth of their community at Capoeira Batuque Pasadena. They have two beautiful kids of their own who also participate in Capoeira. Both Akko and Eugene are educators (Akko is a Adapted Physical Education Teacher and Eugene is a College Professor). Their hard work and devotion has given many young people a place for positive expression and a sense of belonging. On January 8th, this wonderful Altadena family lost their home in the Eaton Fire and will now have to start again from scratch. Please join us in supporting this loving family.
I am a close friend of the family and member of their Capoeira school. I have known and have trained with Akko and Eugene for almost 20 years and live in the neighboring San Fernando Valley area. All donations will go directly to the family to help them through these devastating times. Thank you again for supporting Eugene, Akko and their children.
Update:
Thank you for your incredible generosity & heartwarming support for Eugene & Akko and children. Because of you, we reached the initial goal in 48 hours! Folks they know and Folks - they don't know - have
shown an outpouring of kindness and generosity.
Please continue sharing Akko & Eugene's loss of everything, in the Altadena Fire, with your circle. In continuing support for our friends We are raising the goal to 60K.
Our hope is to expand the circles supporting them. They are grateful for each and every donation, no matter the amount. Whether you gave your name or donated anonymously, please know each of you is a beacon of light and hope in their time of darkness. We cannot thank you enough!
