Support the McLean Volunteer Fire Department
Tax deductible
Hi everyone! My name is Will Fearey and I’m inviting you to please donate to my Centennial fundraiser to honor the McLean Volunteer Fire Department (MVFD). These first responders have been serving our community since 1921, and as a 2021 high school graduate, I believe that it is especially fitting to celebrate our local heroes and the MVFD’s upcoming 100th anniversary.
During this unprecedented time of Covid-19, these dedicated men and women play a critical role in serving our hometown of McLean by providing protection to our schools, residents, and businesses, and by answering over 7,300 calls a year. In addition, the volunteers provide over 10,000 hours of service.
Sadly, donations to our Fire Department have been trending down while expenses have been going up. Your donation is needed to fund everything from purchases of emergency vehicles, to training, volunteer uniforms, community fire and safety education, and the support of the career firefighters.
This year, Covid-19 has prevented many of our treasured MVFD annual activities, like the annual fall Open House, visits to our elementary schools, and McLean Day demonstrations. However, I still hope to see my favorite childhood event -- the decked out antique fire truck weaving its way through neighborhood streets and shopping centers with Santa on top. Let’s keep these traditions going!
Please donate generously to my fully sanctioned McLean Volunteer Fire Department GoFundMe page to support these local heroes who we depend on every single day and need our support now!
Thank you,
Will Fearey
