Support the Meier Family's Battle with Cancer

An update on our beloved J Alan Meier, from his devoted wife, Julie.

"Hello friends and family, this is Julie, J's wife. I am more than heartbroken to share that our sweet J passed away yesterday. He was again taken to the McKay-Dee ER and suffered from cardiac arrest and possible sepsis. I saw J fight until the end, but his heart just couldn't go on anymore and he was mercifully taken from this life.

We had family pictures taken on October 7th, just less than a month ago. I am beyond grateful we were able to capture these moments and his incredible smile on one of his last good days. It is the greatest privilege I will ever know being his wife, caretaker, partner, and witness to these later years of his life. I loved and admired him beyond what words can describe. I want to thank you truly for all your amazing support and love during his fight to stay here."

J and Julie Meier are two of the most wonderful people you could ever encounter in this life, not to mention their sweet little girl Libby. Here is just one part of their beautiful story...

J Meier was diagnosed with a rare stomach cancer, called Linitus Plastica in September of 2022, just 5 weeks after their daughter Libby was born. As you can imagine, this was quite the shock for all us. Due to the late stage and degree of this cancer, a stomach removal surgery, which would buy him time, seemed far reaching. But if you know J, you know he is full of hope and never seems to give up on anything or anyone. After months of aggressive chemo treatments, lots of prayers, and lots of paper cranes, the results came in negative for all sites of live cancer cells. J qualified for the stomach removal surgery in March 2023. He is literally a walking miracle. His road to recovery has been long and arduous. Something none of us can imagine.

J is once again in the middle of another battle with cancer. A little over a month ago Julie and J were told some devastating news. This fast moving, aggressive cancer has spread through his lymphatic system, spine, and hips. He is once again receiving chemo treatments and fighting for his life. Julie has been such a wonderful support and caregiver. Libby has been such a light to their lives. J recently wrote, "If my body was as strong as my love for her I'd live forever." His inspirational messages of hope, love, and gratitude are treasured by so many.

Rest in peace, J
