Support The Melting Pat: Cover Episode 500 Costs
Donation protected
Hello! I'm Pat and I host a free, weekly podcast called The Melting Pat.
We recorded Episode 500 at a venue and the costs were higher than I expected. I would like to pay this bill sooner rather than later so I am less stressed.
If you donate, I can mail you a sticker inside a card with a handwritten thank you note. You can also join me on the podcast to take over a segment to talk about whatever you want. I know it isn't much, but I want to be able to give you something in return.

UPDATE: I would like to let you know about my experience with this venue and why I will never go there again. We booked on May 30. The revenue guarantee, per the contract I signed, was $3000 minus the deposit of $300. So I was on the hook for $2700 minus however much we made in sales at the event (which ended up being $500). I knew it was a risk, but I was confident that we'd have a decent crowd - with help from the venue advertising the show.
I was promised that the club would hang the poster I'd gotten made at the building, list our event on their website (and in their weekly events newsletter), and share the poster on social media. They made one post on Facebook in August and did nothing else to promote our show.
The day before the show I got an email with a completely different contract that showed our revenue guarantee as $3300. I replied that my booking information said $2700, and was told they could "split the difference" and make it $2800.
When we got to the venue, the floor was still dirty from a previous event (there was food on the floor where we were setting up). According to several guests, when they arrived to ask where to go, the staff had no idea what they were talking about.
When the show started, waitresses came around to take food and drink orders, only to disappear. There was another event happening outside on the grounds, but we were promised wait staff for our event and did not have that. Guests had to get up and go to the bar to order food, only to find no one there to take orders.
After a great first impression, we were extremely disappointed at how we were treated as an afterthought. So I would like to be able to pay my debt and never have to deal with this place again.
