UPDATE: The strike authorization vote has concluded, and over 90% of voting members have voted to authorize a strike. CCEA will go on strike on April 14 if a deal hasn't been reached. The biggest sticking point for many members is the full retroactive cost of living adjustment (COLA) back to July 1st, 2024. Management and other county unions have already received their COLA back to July 1st, 2024, but the county refuses to give this to the CCEA. This has already been budgeted and approved. This is not a raise or a bonus, but a cost of living adjustment to help members keep up with inflation and be able to pay their bills. There is no reason to hold this back, but they continue to do so which is what has led to this difficult choice.
This does not mean we will go on strike immediately, and it is possible that if the county is willing to continue to negotiate, we may not need to strike at all. If we do go on strike, we don’t yet know what the timeline will be. We are required to give the county 10 days notice before striking,
Right now we need your support more than ever. Please donate and share with your friends and family.
Support Clackamas County Employees Association – Standing Strong Together
Our current bargaining isn’t going well, and as we move through mediation, we want to be prepared for whatever comes next. The Clackamas County Employees Association (CCEA) represents over 1,300 hardworking employees who serve Clackamas County and its residents every day. We’re fighting for fair treatment, suitable workspaces, proper resources, and equity with the benefits and conditions other county employees already receive. This fight is about dignity, respect, and making sure every worker’s voice is heard.
To help us stand strong, we’re raising money to build a Solidarity Fund. These funds may be used to support a potential strike this year, covering the costs of essential supplies like picket signs, ponchos, and other materials to keep our members safe and visible and as an emergency fund. If we reach an agreement and avoid a strike, your donations will be saved in a Strike Fund to support future efforts, ensuring we’re always ready to advocate for our members when needed.
Your support means the world to us. Every donation, big or small, helps protect the rights and well-being of the people who keep Clackamas County running. Whether the fight is now or in the future, your solidarity makes us stronger.
Thank you for standing with us. Please donate if you can and share this with others who believe in fairness and justice for all workers.
