Support The Mendez Family After House Fire

Friday Dec 30th 2022 The Mendez Family of 7, (Our Neighbors) woke up to the unthinkable. Their neighbor yelling for them to wake up because the downstairs floor of their 3-bedroom apartment was on fire. The eldest son jumped out of his second story bedroom to escape. We painfully watched and tried to help as the father and another neighbor ran through the apartment trying to find Carlos’s other 4 babies and his wife. We saw the father run barefoot through glass trying to save his family, this was incredibly heartbreaking to watch while feeling so helpless. The following day Saturday Dec 31, New Years Eve, Carlos received the call that we all feared, his beautiful wife and mother of 5 did not survive her injuries. Today is Sunday Jan 1st New Years Day and 3 of the children are still in the hospital in very critical condition. As a tight-net group of neighbors we have begun trying to help with small things like clothing, however this family is going to need tremendous financial support, and much for than the few clothing items we were able to provide, as they have lost everything, Nobody should have to experience this right after Christmas going into the New Year, or ever. The grief is heavy unexplainably heavy on the father, we’ve had to continue to reinforce that he did absolutely everything he could do. Let’s show him what community looks like and help them get back on their feet as they start over. If you are a person of faith, please lift this father and family up in prayer.
