Support Justin Mourning's Family as They Grieve

Donation protected
The Mourning family is heartbroken to announce the tragic passing of Justin Mourning, 46, of Alpharetta, Georgia, on the night of September 11, 2024. Justin was the victim of a tragic accident in downtown Alpharetta. The Alpharetta Police Department has confirmed that a suspect is in custody, and an active investigation is ongoing. No further details are available at this time. The family would like to thank the first responders, investigators and the emergency doctors who worked to save his life and swiftly make an arrest.

Justin Mourning was a beloved husband, father, colleague and friend to many. Originally from Denver, Colorado, and a lifelong Denver Broncos fan, Justin relocated to Alpharetta in 2015 with Lumen Technologies, where he worked for nearly 19 years, steadily advancing within the company. His contributions extended beyond his professional life—Justin was a Board member of the TAG Cloud Society and a dedicated member of Northpoint Community Church.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Tiffany Mourning, with whom he enjoyed participating in Cornhole ATL, walking the many beautiful miles of the Big Creek Greenway, and spending time enjoying the many amenities of Alpharetta. Justin also leaves behind two children: their daughter Tenlie, a Columbia University graduate, in New York, and their son Haden, a junior at the college of criminal justice at Georgia Southern University.

As the family navigates this difficult time, they kindly request privacy while the police continue their investigation. Due to a high volume of calls, Matt Edmonds, a family friend, is the primary contact for the family. The Edmonds are with the Mourning family and relaying all critical information. Tiffany, her father, and her children are making all final decisions as a family.
