Support the need for Vonnies World Respite Please

Hello Vonnies World Respite & Activity center located in Downtown Wayne Mi. We service families that have a child with a disability or special need. We are a Non- profit Organization looking for some community support in keeping our organization afloat. After several years of private funding, and pushing for a contract with DWIHN Medicaid Respite Voucher program monies have been spread thin and we have not been able to invest in the things we really want for our program keeping the doors open was our top priority.

We believe in our vision and it's purpose for this community of people. Standing on the shoulders of faith and prayers has kept us thus far, that is until our latest spotlight on FOX 2 News (Detroit) that aired 6 days ago that has helped change the trajectory of our situation. We are still in need of funding to help in other areas of our operation in furthering our efforts in giving these families the greatest experience for Respite care possible. Payment of the lease for our building was our greatest burden however you can still help us financially to fill the gaps in the daily operation, purchases of new updated material and adaptive equipment.

These families are in desperate search for facilities that provide opportunities like ours for Respite services which are merely non existing. A safe, competent and reliable trusted service to drop their special needs child off, so that they (the parent) can take a short '2hr' personal break, away from their own caregiving duties. Places like this are far and few here, in Michigan or even a place to come as a family, that allows their child a safe place to socialize, explore and play with peers like them. A place created "just for them!"

We ask that you help us keep the movement forward in reaching our goal to provide the most amazing experience for our clients. As a Nurse, a parent of a child with special needs, and a family advocate for Wayne Westland School District & WCPAC (Wayne County Parent Advisory Committee and Wayne RESA) I know this service would be very beneficial to the lives and wellbeing of the families who need it most.
