Support the New Braj Gurukula!

In 1997, our most beloved Gurudeva, Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Maharaja, requested that the devotees of New Braja create an “ideal gurukula”. Such a gurukula, Gurudeva proclaimed, would be a “light for the world,” a place where children from all over would learn the principles of Vaisnava etiquette, bhakti culture, sastra, and receive a strong academic education.  

Srila Gurudeva expressed His desire that the New Braj Gurukula have its own separate building with “many classes, classrooms, and qualified teachers”. The students who come here, he said, will become “ideal in bhakti, in everything.” They will not be “bewildered” and go “here and there”. Rather, they will have a strong, firm foundation in Krsna Consciousness as well as a formal education. Any education without bhakti, Gurudeva affirmed, “is like zero”. 


Now we have the opportunity to serve that vision further with an exciting new development. Bhakti Projects has generously purchased a 1,370 sqft barn for the gurukula within walking distance from the temple. Once fully renovated, the building will consist of three classrooms to accommodate 30 children, an altar, a meeting and activity area, corner library, and bathroom. 

 

 

Together, let us become instruments of our Gurudeva’s vision for our Gaudiya society and the children who will be it’s future. With your help, we can raise the necessary funds for building renovations and permitting fees. We look forward to creating a high-class school building!
