Support the New York Black Belt Center

Donación protegida
I opened the New York Black Belt Center alongside my father in 2010 in Whitestone, Queens. We taught Taekwondo to students from all over NYC together in our humble dojang. After he passed away, I relocated my academy to Bayside, becoming the next-door neighbor to my mother's restaurant, which is where we have been for the past seven years. Our doors have been open to people of all ages, ethnicities, and beliefs, bestowing the lessons in martial arts and life that my father passed down to me.

Due to recent mandates related to the COVID-19 disease, I have been forced to close my Taekwondo school until further notice.  We are not taking this disease lightly, and it is our responsibility to shut the doors of the dojang until it is safe to reopen.

This is a catastrophic time for everyone, including small businesses like myself. I know for students and parents, the NYBBC has become a home away from home for them. Strangers became life long friends, and we have all sweat and worked hard together to become stronger in body, mind, and spirit. Having to close the gym during this period is like having to close a part of my heart, and I feel that ache every minute I am not inside my school, teaching and growing with everyone else.

Unlike many other martial arts academies, the NYBBC has NEVER tied their students down with contracts. Everything has always been month by month. In these dire times where so many places are being forced to shut their doors, my gym is taking a huge hit that it may never recover from. These problems will not just be affecting the gym this month, but will certainly carry over into the future.

I am reaching out to you to please help support the NYBBC while the world heals from this awful disease. Your contribution will go to keeping the school alive until we are able to re-open our doors and resume classes.

While we are unable to hold normal hours, we are now offering virtual classes on our Youtube channel,  with multiple videos uploaded each day to ensure all levels of students can continue to learn. We are doing this for FREE, to ensure kids and adults have something to do while they are not being schooled or working, and don't lose the momentum they have been working so hard for every time they show up for class.

We are grateful for any contribution you can give to help our school, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back with open arms as soon as we are allowed to. We must all stay strong and positive during these tough times, and for me, my Taekwondo spirit is what will give me strength through it all. This is the same mentality I instill in all of my students, and one I want to continue teaching even while I can not be there in person to do so.

I can't wait to have all of you sweating on my mats again as soon as possible! Thank you for your help!
