Support the Nichols in Honoring Melva's Last Wish
Donation protected
On June 26th, Melva June Nichols passed away peacefully in her home with her son, who has been her caretaker, by her side and her husband nearby. She had been suffering from a 9-year life-altering illness. Her husband, Dave, who also suffers with cognitive aging memory issues, had high hopes that she would just get better.
The Lewy Body Dementia illness is a tough one. The patient goes in and out of being “themselves.” Melva and Dave made giving to friends, family, and churches their lifelong priority. Having grown up in a different era and being married so young, suffering the loss of a child, the young Nichols family were focused on giving. They also held the belief, which generally proves to be true, that give and it will be given back to you.
Unfortunately, sometimes illnesses, family circumstances, and uncontrollable events leave families like the Nichols unprepared for end-of-life expenses.
Mrs. Nichols specified in her last wishes that she wanted to be buried at the cemetery near their home where her daughter Gretchen is buried. They pre-purchased the plot at the time, but even so, this does not begin to cover the burial expense and funeral costs.
I am humbly asking on behalf of my friend that anyone that feels compelled to give may do so to help relieve the financial burden of coming up with twenty-two thousand dollars in two weeks' time. The Nichols family expresses their love and appreciation for any amount that you feel you would like to contribute.
