We are deeply saddened to share the tragic news of the sudden passing of Patrick O’Grady in his 50th year. While on a cruise with his loving wife Erin and two beautiful children, Addie and Emmett, Pat experienced a medical emergency causing his unexpected death. What should have been the trip of a lifetime celebrating March Break ended tragically. Pat’s passing has left a void in the hearts of many that cannot be filled. The O’Grady family is very thankful for the outpouring of love and support from their friends, family and community while they deal with this devastating and unexpected loss.

Pat was a devoted husband, father, and cherished son, brother, teacher, coach, and community member. He was known for his infectious smile, quick wit, caring nature, and big heart. Conversations with Pat were filled with laughter and always left you feeling seen and special. He was a pillar of strength, love, and compassion in the lives of many people and in the community. As a dedicated teacher and coach, Pat touched the lives of countless students and athletes, inspiring them to reach their fullest potential. His kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support knew no bounds, leaving a lasting effect on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Now, in the wake of this devastating loss, Pat’s family faces unimaginable and immediate financial burdens associated with his untimely death (the unexpected cost of medical bills, cost of bringing him home to Canada, planning a funeral, and the transition to a single-income household).

In order to help alleviate the family’s financial worries during an already heartbreaking time and to help support Pat and Erin’s aspirations for their children to pursue post-secondary education in the coming years, we have set up a way to support the O’Grady family.
