Support the Ortiz Nunez Family After losing their Home

On July 6, 2024, a fire broke out at 2AM in Santa Nella, CA. In the blink of an eye, my family lost their home and everything they had worked so hard for the past 27 years. It hasn’t been two months since we lost our beloved son, brother, cousin, and friend Brian Ortiz due to cancer.

For the past year, my family has had to navigate Brian’s cancer so rapidly. His cancer spread so quickly within a 9-month span that my aunt and uncle had to stop working to focus their energy on taking care of Brian. We never anticipated having to gather funds for funeral expenses so quickly.

Regrettably, due to the financial strains of this past year, we let our house insurance lapse. We never imagined such a tragedy striking so soon after Brian's passing. More than anything, we are devastated to have lost all his belongings and memories we had in the home. The home Brian grew up in. All the rooms, including his, were completely destroyed.

At this time, my Uncle Ramon, Aunt Luz, and cousins Diego, Alejandro, and Alondra are in complete shock with the events that transpired. They are devastated and we are not sure how we’re going to move forward. It is hard to believe the tragedies that have hit us this year.

All funds will be given directly to the Ortiz Nunez family bank account to cover getting back on their feet. Unfortunately, we were not able to save anything due to the fire and will be using these expenses to cover clothes, food, and any other necessities.

We want to say a big thank you for the support our community has shown us. At this time, the only thing we can hold on to is Hope. Hope that it will get better and we will get through this rough time.

El 6 de julio de 2024, se produjo un incendio a las 2 de la madrugada en Santa Nella, CA. En un instante, mi familia perdió su casa y todo lo que habían trabajado tan duro durante los últimos 27 años. No han pasado dos meses desde que perdimos a nuestro querido hijo, hermano, primo y amigo Brian Ortiz debido al cáncer.

Ha sido un ano muy difícil, mi familia tuvo que afrontar el cáncer de Brian muy rápidamente. Su cáncer se propagó en un lapso de 9 meses. Mis tíos tuvieron que dejar de trabajar para cuidar a Brian. Nunca anticipamos tener que reunir fondos para los gastos del funeral tan rápidamente.

Nunca imaginamos que una tragedia así ocurriera tan poco después del fallecimiento de Brian. Más que nada, estamos devastados por haber perdido todas sus pertenencias y recuerdos que teníamos en el hogar. La casa en la que Brian creció.
