Baby Oyirifi Escrow Fraud Recovery Fund

Kwasi and Ashley Oyirifi are college sweethearts (University of Missouri-Columbia alumni). The Oyirifi’s, now married 9 years, have been elated since March when they learned that their surrogate, Amber, is carrying their baby. Baby Oyirifi will be earth side in November, God willing.

Baby Oyirifi’s arrival will be a long awaited happy ending that has come after the loss of their first child to premature labor, six years of fertility treatments, and the whirlwind of ups and downs that come with navigating infertility. 

Now, halfway through the pregnancy, an unthinkable roadblock has come their way. Ashley and Kwasi recently learned that all the funds set aside to cover their beautiful surrogacy journey were likely stolen by the owner of an escrow company who was mismanaging payments to the surrogates of hundreds of families. 

 

After conversations with several attorneys, it’s fairly certain that Ashley and Kwasi will not recuperate the stolen funds, and certainly not before the baby arrives. Yet, they are contractually obligated to fully compensate their lovely surrogate and cover legal and medical fees associated with getting baby Oyirifi home.

As a close family friend of Ashley and Kwasi, I’m hoping to help ease some of their financial burden by turning to their family, friends, and community for help through this crisis. All funds will go directly to Ashley and Kwasi to cover the legal, medical, and surrogate fees for baby Oyirifi.
