My two young boys and husband were struck by a drunk driver last weekend on their way back home from a fishing trip. Wayne, a dedicated and loving father of our boys, made a last-minute defensive driving move that resulted in our boys receiving only minor physical injuries and the trauma of having been in such a scary accident. The preventative actions taken by Wayne, that likely saved the lives of our boys, unfortunately resulted in the drunk driver slamming full force into his driver side door. The accident has left him with serious physical and head injuries.

To make matters worse the heavily intoxicated driver was an illegal immigrant driving without a license and without insurance. The accident has left our family without a vehicle, which was totaled, and now no source of income for the foreseeable future. Wayne had been our sole provider due to my recent stage 3 heart failure diagnosis which forced me to leave my job and with the inability to rejoin the workforce. An already difficult financial situation is now made dire due to the limits of our own insurance and our inability to receive any funds or compensation from the drunk driver. Our medical bills and debt continue to pile up and we are at serious risk of losing everything.
