Support the Pedraza Family After Fire Loss

The Pedraza family is one of the many families that lost their home this week to the Eaton Fire, in Altadena. They have called Altadena home for the last 30 years. They moved in to the house on N. Lake Ave around 20 years ago, and transformed it into one of the most warm and beautifully welcoming homes that I (Santiago Chavez) have ever experienced. It was our gathering place and the place where both Estefani and Alexandra (my partner) grew up. The home has been our support system and we have welcomed many friends for countless occasions under its roof. It was filled with a lifetime of laughter. It was filled with the artwork of a lifetime of painting by Hector, Alexandra, Aixa, and Estefani. Countless prints and sculptures brought together from friends and family. An enchanted museum tucked at the foot of our city's beautiful mountains range. The family evacuated in the pre-dawn hours, with little more than the clothes on their back, and a handful of important papers, some photographs, and hope. Wednesday a few images confirmed our worst fears. The house is gone, along with all of the family's belongings. We will undoubtedly find a way forward in this very different world. In the meantime, things will be fluid. These funds will assist with needs that might not be fully covered by other sources of aid. Thank you for anything you can give.
