PEOPLE'S ARMS EMBARGO FUNDRAISER

We are a coalition of 25 Bay Area organizations united in a shared goal of stopping the shipment of U.S. arms to Israel.

On January 23 the people of California converged at Travis Air Force Base for a peaceful nonviolent direct action to resist Travis' role in shipping arms to support Israel's genocidal campaign in Palestine.

After a 45 min. peaceful human blockade at the base's North Gate, 2 grandmothers, 1 therapist and a veteran were arrested by the Fairfield Police. Shortly thereafter, Fairfield police physically prevented 3 support folks to return to their cars. Thirty minutes later three tow trucks arrived to tow all 3 vehicles away. This was completely unlawful behavior on the part of the Fairfield Police, but the anti-genocide demonstrators were forced to pay $2,100 in retrieval fees to get their vehicles back.

This fundraiser is an effort to reach out to our peace community in Northern California to ask for support for the activists who incurred these illegal fees.

We are most grateful to anyone who is able to even make the smallest contribution to support these committed peace activists.

Once we reach our $2100 goal we will close this fundraising site.
