Support the Providence Strike Fund

Donation protected
UPDATE: Thanks to all of you we hit our initial goal so we are increasing it to $50,000! We deeply appreciate all of your support. We are fired up, we are unified, and we are committed.

Nearly 5,000 Providence healthcare professionals are on strike! This includes nurses, physicians, advanced practice providers, nurse practitioners, physician associates, certified nurse midwives, and other healthcare providers from hospitals and clinics across Oregon.

After being at the bargaining table for more than a year, ONA members voted overwhelmingly to go on strike to fight for patient safety, safe staffing, and competitive wages to recruit and retain frontline health care workers.

This is the largest healthcare workers strike in Oregon history and the first time in Oregon history that doctors have hit the strike line.

As Providence becomes more corporatized, executives are asking frontline caregivers to spend less time with patients and more time driving up profits which could have a direct impact on you and your family. Striking is never an easy decision but ONA members are tired of business as usual and are standing up and fighting for their patients and the communities they serve.

Funds generated via the Providence Strike Fund will be used to cover general expenses associated with supporting health care professionals and our allies on the picket line. That includes, but is not limited to:

Emergency funding for member needs (including financial assistance) through ONA’s strike fund.
Food delivery
Beverage delivery
Transportation to and from the picket line.
Childcare costs for members and their families walking the line.
Picket line equipment (picket signs, bullhorns, strike captain vests, etc.).
Public awareness efforts such as advertising, social media ads, and other outreach actions.

While we are grateful for community support and support from our labor siblings, ONA will not accept donations from employers, employer-sided labor advisers or consultants, or from anyone who is an agent of an employer or who is acting in the interest of an employer.

Please note: Donations to the Providence Strike Fund are not tax deductible. If Providence offers a fair contract and the strike is averted, or if there are excess funds, all donations will be reserved for future member needs via the ONA strike fund.
