Support The Rebirth of Kool's Final Journey - Pilot Episode

Donation protected

As we draw closer to our premiere for the pilot episode of The Rebirth Of Kool TV series, we still need some final funding to help with the backend post-production costs. We were already on a tight budget, and then Hurricane Helene hit our area, Asheville, NC, and put some of our team in a harder financial state(loss of jobs, etc.), so we would like to pay them more accordingly for their time and efforts to finish the project. Many of the team took very little pay to finish the project. Also, we want to include an additional scene with a named actor, so if we reach our goals this would be fantastic. The trailer release will be coming out soon. If these stills and Behind-The-Scenes photos do not show the hard labor put into the production of the ROK, the trailer will for sure do so. Please share our GoFundMe so we can find someone interested in funding a film project such as The Rebirth Of Kool. The funder/donator will get major credits in it.

Below are the costs for where the funding will go—editors, animated titles, composer, score, visual effects, additional recordings, travel expenses, etc. To ensure, we had everything we needed to film the pilot itself, we moved our post-production funding into production which is why we are still in need of these final costs. We found the costs for hair/makeup artists, additional crew members, props, set design, costumes, travel costs for the main cast and crew, costs for food which on some days was well over 50 people needing to be fed, etc were way larger than we had anticipated. We even had people invest their pay into the project to ensure others would be paid. It truly takes a lot of money to do what we did with such a small budget, but we did it!

After the final edit, we plan to take the pilot episode to Mexico to help get the series picked up and produced on networks such as HBO & Netflix, then distribute it throughout America and internationally.

Editor: $3,200
Colorist: $1,000
Foley/Sound/Mastering: $1000
Visual Effects: $800
Stock Footage: $800
Music/Score: $1000
Music Artist Recording: $800
Additional Scene Including Name Actor: $7,000
Animated Title: $500
Incurred Production Cost: $4,000
Premiere Promotion: $1,000
Miscellaneous: $1,000

Total Amount: $22,100

These amounts are a skeleton budget for post-production which we need to finish the pilot episode. We are working with a historical piece, dancers, musicians, etc. which is why it takes a lot of money to complete from beginning to end. The reality of the budget this pilot episode should have cost compared to what we had to make it happen, is incredible!

Donors who give over $3,000 will receive an Executive Producer credit.
Donors who give over $1,000 will receive an Associate Producer credit.
Donors who give over $200 will receive a shout in the credits.

Every donation is appreciated. If you can't help financially, please share and help us spread the word. We thank you for your generous donations!

ABOUT

Our project is not just about creating a cool film; it's about bringing to light a narrative that is crucial for understanding the Latino, Black, and minority experience during the WWII era. In a time marked by adversity and inequality, the voices and contributions of these communities were often sidelined or erased. Through our series, we aim to rectify historical oversights on events like, “The Zoot Suit Riots" and "The Chinese Massacre of 1871," shedding light on the untold stories of courage, resilience, and triumph that defined the lives of Latinos, Blacks and minorities who fought against both external enemies and internal prejudices. Join us as we delve into this vital chapter of history and honor a story that must be told!

The glorious team of talented friends behind the project have worked together since 2016. Firstly, the dynamic duo of Director Sarah Rachel Fesiuk and her husband, DP David Fesiuk, are rising stars with credits like Rosebud Lane (available on Freevee) and Origins Untold, soon to be released on multiple platforms. Then, there is the fabulous talented dancer/choreographer, Jessica Wharton-Vazquez, Otto's beloved wife. Known to the dance world as "Goldie Lox," she has credits such as Off-Broadway and played the role of Toni Basil on the BET TV series, American Soul. Also, we have cultivated a company of dancers and entertainers who have worked together since 2015 called Nu Paradigm Entertainment. For the past 8 years, they have all worked extremely hard to materialize this dream.
