Support the Rebuilding of Lansing's Gathering Place

We need your help. When Walter and I opened the Old Orchard Creek General Store, our vision was to create a true community gathering place. Thanks to our incredible mountain community and the countless friends from across the country, that dream not only came to life but became something even more special. Your support over the years has meant the world to us – and now to Shelby as well.
Today, we are asking for your help once again as we stand with Shelby to rebuild this beloved business after a devastating, historic flood that has affected so many in our part of the North Carolina Mountains – and beyond. The outpouring of love and support from our community has been overwhelming, but there is still a long road ahead. Early estimates suggest that reopening will cost more than $250,000. This goal is just a small step toward securing the essential equipment needed to get the store back on its feet.
There are no words to describe the heartache Walter and I felt when Shelby ran to find us (we had been trying to get to her all day), sharing the news of what the floodwaters had done to our friends' homes and businesses along Main Street - and to the General Store. We are heartbroken for the loss our community has endured, but we believe that together, with your help, we can rebuild. One day soon, there will be music on the porch once again.
Will you stand with us?
