Support the recently flooded GOVA Project in DRC
Tax deductible
Want to join me in making a difference? My name is Kwadjo in Atlanta, GA and I'm raising money with Friends of the Congo and Pan-African Community Action to benefit the GOVA (Groupement D’organisations Villageoises D’auto-Developpement [Eng: Group of Village Self-Development Organizations]), a collective of grassroots cooperatives and people-centered projects near Kisangani, DRC, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
Over the last several months flooding has wrecked much of life in Congo.
For the GOVA, the most recent flood has caused heavy damage: water is everywhere; people have nowhere to sleep; food reserves are no longer available as bags of rice, maize flour, beans, and cassava are soaked; books and children's' school materials are ruined beyond use; radio, TV and other tools are damaged. Houses are destroyed, drinking water is dirty, and cases of malaria and diarrhea are expected to rise.
Friends of the Congo and Pan-African Community Action are calling on you to muster some Pan-African solidarity to help GOVA recover. Your emergency support will be used to help purchase food reserves, school material for children, blankets, bed sheets, kitchen tools, medical products to clean water, tarpaulins, drugs (medicines), and repair damaged homes--especially for the poorest and women living alone.
Most of victims are farmers producing rice, beans, meat, maize, palm oil, cassava, vegetables, and fruits for the Kisangani people. Some of them send their products to Kinshasa. Supporting these villagers means the world. And supporting the Kisangani people also indirectly supports Congolese folks living in Kinshasa.
Supporting our Black family in GOVA with seeds and fishing material on top of other urgent needs is crucial for them in this time.
