Help Me Fight for Mom and Dad: A Family's Double Battle with Stage 4 Cancer Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers, Our world has been turned upside down. In what feels like a cruel twist of fate, both of my parents were diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, and our small family is struggling to cope with this unimaginable reality.
**My mom, the heart of our family, 60** has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer this year, which has tragically metastasized to her liver. The pain she endures daily is beyond words, and despite her incredible strength, the cancer is relentless. Watching the person who has always been our rock now so frail and in pain is a heart-wrenching experience.
**My dad, our family's protector, 71** has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer since 2019,which has spread to his brain in 2023. Just recently, he underwent a critical surgery on his brain in a brave attempt to fight back against this devastating disease. Despite the surgery, the road ahead is terrifyingly uncertain, with new medications and physical therapy, and each day is a struggle for survival.
Both of my parents are in the fight of their lives, and I am doing everything I can to support them. But the costs of their treatments, medications, and ongoing care are overwhelming. I am reaching out to you, our community, to ask for help. We never imagined we would be in this position, but we are desperate.
At just 22 years old, I find myself as the sole caretaker of my parents, both battling stage 4 cancer. I'm their only child here, and there's no one else to lean on—it's just the three of us facing this overwhelming reality. I juggle my part time job and the demands of school, all while trying to care for my parents in their most vulnerable moments. Every day feels like an uphill battle, and the weight of it all often feels too much to bear. But despite the exhaustion and heartache, I push forward because I’m all they have, and they’re all I have too.
Beyond the emotional toll, the financial strain has been overwhelming. With medical bills piling up, we’re struggling to make ends meet. The cost of everyday necessities—rent, groceries, utilities—has become a constant source of worry. Our goal is to raise $10,000, which would be a lifeline for us. We’re 3 months behind on rent which is $1500 monthly so this amount would help us cover the basic essentials: rent, food, and other everyday needs that have become so difficult to afford. It would allow us to focus on caring for my parents without the crushing fear of how we’ll survive financially.
Your support, no matter how small, would mean the world to us. It’s more than just money—it’s the chance to keep us together in our time of greatest need. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us hold on to hope. I want to give our parents every possible chance to fight, to be with us a little longer, to create just a few more memories together. I am grateful for any help you can offer, from the bottom of me and my parent’s hearts.
Please help me save our mom and dad. With heartfelt gratitude, Grace Reinoso
