Hello. My name is Tanya Martin-Kirkutis and I am starting this Go Fund Me Campaign to help raise money for the life-saving care of two kitties, Shadow and Lily.
They are the two surviving kitties of six who were in a house fire on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 in Dallas, Pennsylvania. The Rogowski family has suffered a devastating loss of their family's companion pets and are facing estimated Veterinarian care costs between $5,000 - $6000 or more.
The family lost Binx, Sasha, Callie, and Minka in the fire on Overbrook Road. Tamara is a high school science teacher at Wilkes-Barre Area High School. She was procturing the Keystone Exam yesterday and had not been able to access her cell phone, which had been receiving alerts from her home security camera system that there was a fire in the kitchen of their home. It wasn't until the exam
ended, two hours later that she had seen the notifications and called for help at her residence.
Unfortunately, three of their kitties, Binx, Sasha, and Minka, passed from smoke inhalation complications on scene. Shadow and Callie were transported to the Plains Animal Hospital in Plains, Pennsylvania, where Callie passed due to the injuries she sufferd from the fire.
Lily had been unaccounted for, so we searched for her for a few hours after arriving at the home and being given the okay to enter the home. Lily was found, two hours after we gained access, hiding behind a desk in the dining room, which took on very heavy smoke damage. Lily's legs and paws were covered in soot and her fur was singed. Her face and mouth had been affected from the high heat as well. However her breathing was extremely labored from the severe smoke inhalation, so we rushed her to the Plains Animal Hospital immediately.
Lily and Shadow are in stable, but critical condition, twenty-four hours after the fire. The next twenty-four hours will be telling as to whether they will pull through.
Tammy, Mike and their children, Ryan, Ariana and soon-to-be adopted son, Isaiah, are all extremely devastated over the loss of their fur babies and are clinging on to hope for the remaining two kitties to pull through.
Any donations to help the family pay for the care of their two surviving kitties would be appreciated tremendously.
Thank You for taking time to read their story. Prayers and positive thoughts are much appreciated for the family at this time as well. It will be a long road to recover from this tragedy for the Rogowski family.
