Support the Rueger Family

Hello Everyone! Thank you for being here! My name is Caitlin and I am creating this GoFundMe for Danielle, my co-worker (and friend). As on the evening of 08/13/2024, her 3 year old daughter was attacked by a dog. Due to the attack, a plastic surgeon was called in as the dog had ripped thru half of her eyelid (luckily missing her eye and not causing any damage) and completely cut thru the bottom of her nose which had to be reattached. This was a very traumatic event for all those involved. Not just the attack itself but the ambulance ride, hospital stay, and surgery’s for their little girls face. I have received permission from the family to share two photos from post-surgery. These will be shown towards the end of the post (TW: stitches, cuts, scars/blood)

On 08/17/2024, they had to return to the ER as some of her stitches came out and has half her face covered in gauze.

As you can imagine there are many thoughts going through their heads: making sure she doesn't get an infection or scars, will she have a fear of dogs, do I have enough leave left, will I qualify for FMLA, how much school will she miss, financially how do we pay for this, and her daughter struggling with her new appearance as young girl as she has already stated “I’m disgusting.”

Our hope in creating this GoFundMe is to help their family out as much as possible. Danielle has been added as beneficiary to receive the funds. ALL funds will go directly to the family. Whether we meet the goal or not a little bit goes a long away and the family is so grateful for anyone generous enough to donate them during this traumatic event.
