Support the Sanctis Family

Andrew Sanctis lost his beautiful wife, Josie, on December 5, 2022. She leaves behind four young children, Amelia (8), Joanna (5), Thomas (4), and Joseph (1). Please consider helping lighten Andrew’s load by giving what you can to offset the family’s future expenses.

About Josie
Josie Sanctis, 38, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2022, after encountering a rare side effect from treatment during her courageous battle with osteosarcoma. Known for her steadfast faith and wide open heart, Josie always maintained her sense of hope and found purpose in her suffering. She was a deeply faithful person, always seeking closeness with Christ and encouraging others to do the same. Even in the midst of her cancer treatment, which left her physically exhausted, Josie was at mass every Sunday, surrounded by her precious family and ready to receive our Lord. Those who knew her weren’t surprised; she had rare strength and faith that continue to inspire.

Josie was highly accomplished, brilliant, and funny. She was also warm and generous; remembering small details, always ready to listen. She was a champion of the unborn and served on the board of the prolife organization MiraVia. She raised $50,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. She was also Mrs. North Carolina in 2013. She did all this while pursuing a rigorous full time career. But all of these accomplishments were secondary to her primary source of pride and purpose: her family. Josie will be deeply missed.

Support Andrew
Andrew will now be raising and supporting his family without Josie, and we want to help him focus on his family and work with as little added financial stress as possible. There are the immediate expected expenses like food, clothing, and extracurricular activities for the kids, but there will also be unexpected needs that must be met. Future medical costs and counseling and therapy needs, for example, could be significant.

Andrew is also hoping to honor Josie by completing some projects she had been planning before she passed. For years, she had wanted to add flowers to their outdoor landscaping; Andrew would like to do that this spring. Josie had also planned to do work in the kitchen and living room and to redo bedrooms, making Joanna a “big girl” room and finally moving Joseph into his own room.

Words are insufficient to describe losing Josie. We ask that you prayerfully consider giving what you can to help the Sanctis family. Thank you for your generosity.
