Christine was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer in November 2018. After her diagnosis, it was decided that she should stay out of work for he remainder of the school year. During that time she underwent radiation and treatment plans. Miraculously, she showed great signs of improvement. Christine was eager to get back to work in September.
Unfortunately, in Christine’s recent routine scan, it showed that the tumors in her lungs have grown. In January, she began her current plan of treatment-three months of chemo. Even with this new plan, Christine was hoping to continue teaching. However, medical issues are preventing her from doing this consistently. As a result, medical bills are piling up, medications are becoming more and more expensive, and trips to and from the city are adding up. It is becoming extremely difficult financially.
Christine has faced her battle with cancer with unprecedented levels of strength and dignity, a true testament to her character. She is the most kind and caring person. Danielle states, “She is a warrior, she fights through every day in pain, exhausted, worried...working a full time job, caring for her family and always with a smile on her face and a calm demeanor. She has taken everything thrown at her.”
Christine and Danielle have been very open about her illness with their children, Nina and Joey. They are trying to maintain a normal structure for them. Family time is of utmost priority. They are keeping their children busy in sports because the kids enjoy it and Christine loves watching them play. Summer time has always been a time for recharging and they have created many memories on vacation at their "happy place" in Brigantine, New Jersey. We want to help make sure all of this still happens.
Christine has never once asked for any help. Since she is well loved by so many, we have often been asked, “How can I help?” Donations toward this cause would be one of the best ways to help her and her family.
