Support the Sangermans: Remembering Pegg & Caring for Mike
Donation protected
On December 18, 2024, Pegg and Mike Sangerman were violently attacked in their home in the Miller Beach Community of Gary, Indiana, tragically taking the life of Pegg and leaving Mike critically injured.
Pegg’s death is a devastating loss for all of us. She was a deeply energetic and spirited woman, a devoted mother, wife, and friend, whose love truly knew no bounds.
Her obituary can be found here: https://www.burnsfuneral.com/m/obituaries/Margaret-Sangerman/Memories
Mike was very recently discharged from the ICU and is going on three weeks of critical hospital care and rest. Their children, Samantha and Max, are currently overseeing their father’s care as well as arrangements for their Mother.
It goes without saying that no one deserves to be victimized by this kind of horrific violence. It’s even harder to accept the reality of this tragedy when it has broken a family who puts out nothing but unending love, kindness, art, and joy into our world. The Sangerman family is, indeed, an incredible one - making this loss all the more heartbreaking.
This GoFundMe has been created to help the Sangermans with the overwhelming financial burdens they suddenly face— from ICU bills, to impending physical therapy costs, to Pegg’s memorial service, all the way to the cleanup and repair of their home, which was severely damaged during the attack. Any additional money raised will go to support a foundation of the Sangerman family’s choice, aimed at helping other victims of violence with hospital bills, funeral costs, and other needs during their darkest hours.
The Sangermans are always the first to offer love, kindness, and support to those around them. Please join in giving back to them in their time of need.
We urge you to donate, share, and keep the Sangerman family in your thoughts as they fight for justice and recovery. ❣️
Mike, Samantha, Max, and Mark - we love you!
