Support the Sanuriro Batwa Community
Donation protected
The Batwa people of Uganda are conservation refugees. They were displaced when the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park was created to protect the Mountain Gorilla. While I usually spend most of my energy directly supporting conservation, I think we also have an obligation to help those people who were displaced by conservation efforts.
My friend Alex Byomugabe has been working tirelessly with the Sanuriro Batwa Community to help them learn farming techniques and develop new skills for the future. They are not looking for a handout, just a hand-up! Please join me in helping him to help them!
All funds raised will go to the Sanuriro Batwa Community Development Association. This is an organization that was set up to benefit the evicted Batwa people who were sent out of their Homelands after the government classified the forest as a National Park to protect the mountain gorillas.
