Support the Schaffer Family in their Time of Loss

My name is Katherine Schaffer-Quirand and I am fundraising for my sweet sister-in-law and niece. On Sunday, November 5, 2023, my brother, Byron Schaffer, passed away, leaving behind his beautiful wife, Rachel Schaffer, and one-year old daughter, Autumn. Byron was only 35 and was in extremely good health, so his passing was unexpected and has left our entire family heartbroken, especially his wife, Rachel.

Byron and Rachel shared an incredible bond and deep love for one another. They were married for nine years, but were together for 12+ years. Over the last few years, Rachel has been working on her Masters degree through the University of Kentucky, and just started her required internship that will end in August 2024 (yes, that's right, she went to school and worked throughout her entire pregnancy - she is a superhero). Byron and Rachel worked hard to prepare for her internship and living on one income, but they were depending on his salary and now he is gone.

He was so proud of Rachel and her dedication to her studies. In lieu of flowers, we are asking for support to help Rachel with funeral costs and living expenses through August 2024, so that she can provide for her daughter on her own and complete her degree.
