Support the Sewell Family's Seventh Well Adoption

Hi!

We are the Sewell Family. We would like to welcome you into our foster care and adoption story.

On April 24th, 2022, a call comes in from our foster care agency. A 2-month-old baby boy was in a Dallas area hospital resting in nursing care. Mom was unfortunately not going to be able to take him home. He had suffered head trauma from his father, had seizure-like activity, and needed a safe home to recover in and needed time to heal. We packed up and drove to Dallas on the 26th of April to welcome a new baby into our home.

He had a long road of recovery. We made many trips to Dallas for him to be seen by his neurologist, neurosurgeon, and physical medicine doctors. Many loving healthcare professionals fell in love him and his beautiful smile. His physical therapist stands out among those who helped him in his recovery. Before finishing her therapy with him, he was nearly walking at the appropriate time in his development. He needed her lift, patience, and expertise. We were ecstatic to hear the words from the neurosurgeon that his head had completely healed. The CT scans and EEGs were clear of any abnormality. Our young little guy was being healed. Thankfully, he has had no seizures since the first reports of them occurring. We praise God, for the blessing of seeing him completely healed. He is a handsome and very strong 2 year old boy.

Back in the summer of 2023, leadership within our fostering agency prompted us to seek legal counsel and representation because it was looking like the mother’s parental rights were going to be removed. We had much compassion for her and had hoped that we could be in her life as well as the baby boy's life. However, she had not completed her services despite multiple extensions. CPS was concerned if the mother's rights were terminated that he would be placed back into a living situation where he would be exposed to his abusive father. We had peace from the Lord to follow that guidance and suffered through three long 8-10 hour days of trial. The judge ended up ruling in our favor and ordered that we be permanent managing conservators. It is hard to explain this, but it means he is no longer under child protective services and we must private adopt.

Our family's last name is Sewell, which means Seven Wells. We have 4 children of our own, which is a testimony of the goodness of God in our lives. But we are only six wells. We are working on digging that seventh well. Our children have welcomed him into their hearts and home so graciously. They are so full of joy with the thought of him becoming our seventh well.

Our purpose in starting this campaign is to help us cover the cost of our legal and adoption fees. Would you please pray and ask the Father in Heaven, if He would have you specifically give to us in our pursuit of digging our seventh well?

Many of you have been so gracious and have given to us. We are so grateful and want to thank you for your generosity. Those funds have been forwarded to our legal team. Some of the funds we used to invest in T-Shirts for this fundraiser. I will provide a link for you to pick up a Seven Wells Adoption t-shirt below. The front of the t-shirt has these words over the heart, “Chosen. Holy. Dearly Loved.” Every night before bed, we pray with him, and we remind him that he is chosen, holy, and (he yells out) DEARLY LOVED!!
