Support the Songer family

Hello! I am Tiffany’s little sister, Mikaela. I am organizing this fundraiser to help support this phenomenal woman and the Songer family (Tiffany, JD, Ellie and Jameson) through this journey facing Tiffany’s cancer.

To steal a phrase, “If you’re lucky enough to know Tiffany, then you’re lucky enough.” Those of us fortunate enough to have Tiffany in our lives and community know those words sure seem like they could have been penned with us in mind. Tiffany is a beacon of light and love to her family, friends, students and community. With her loving heart, tireless dedication and generous spirit, Tiffany has made every place she’s ever been and every life she has touched, better.

While we don’t have all the answers, yet–here’s what we DO know. Our sweet Tiffany has cancer, initially diagnosed as Stage 3 Ovarian. However, her oncologist now believes the primary cancer itself to be of an entirely different type. As yet, we have not discovered where the primary cancer is located–it seems that the cancer is not a “normal” presentation and is possibly much more complex than initially was anticipated. Tiffany is hoping to travel to MD Anderson in Houston, Texas to be seen and diagnosed by some of the best oncologists in the nation.

In the short three weeks since receiving the news that Tiffany has cancer, the Songer family has already made repeated trips to see various oncologists and Tiffany has had to undergo multiple procedures. Of course, in true Songer fashion, they’ve been weathering the storm and riding it out. We know that this family has already been through the wringer with Ellie’s diagnosis (and her subsequently kicking that cancer’s butt!) and the near four years since that day in May 2020 have not been easy by any means. Now, this family is being asked to undergo yet another cancer diagnosis and is facing yet another battle.

Tiffany can stand proudly with the best of the best–her tireless devotion to her community, students, and family are truly admirable. Never have I had the pleasure of knowing and loving someone who absolutely pours her heart and soul into everything she does the way that Tiffany does. Now we have the opportunity to be there to support Tiffany and the Songer family in an incredibly difficult time. The Songers will need every prayer, comforting word and financial help we can pull together for them. If you are able to donate to or share this fundraiser the money raised will go directly to Tiffany and JD to allocate towards the increasing expenses this trial has resulted in.

Right now, we don’t know the extent of Tiffany’s cancer. I will return here and update the fundraiser information as the family relays it to me. Consequently, we are beginning this fundraiser to initially meet the goal of covering their transportation and out of pocket expenses that have already arisen and those we can anticipate facing on the journey to get her a proper diagnosis.
