We are reaching out to you today with heavy hearts and a plea for help. Our dear friend Matt and his loving wife Stacy are facing an unimaginable challenge, and we are coming together as a community to support them during this difficult time.

Matt, a hardworking father of three, has been struck by the relentless grip of COVID-19. At just 36 years old, he was hospitalized due to the virus, and his condition took a devastating turn. Complications arose, including severe blood clots in his lungs, double pneumonia, and persistent infections, and pulmonary embolism. What was initially a battle against COVID-19 has turned into an ongoing fight for Matt's life.

This prolonged hospital stay has not only taken a toll on Matt's physical health but has also thrown his family into financial turmoil. With Matt unable to work and provide for his family, they are facing mounting medical bills, household expenses, and the daily costs of raising their two young children.

UPDATE

Here is an update from my mom Stacy,

"Update on Matt. Matt came home from the first extended stay in Ft Wayne and was home for 2 days before he took a downhill turn again. He had difficulty breathing and asked me to call an ambulance. When he got to the Emergency room in Columbia City his oxygen was up to 60 and they put him on the bipap machine and asked if they could put him on a ventilator if that didn't work, luckily we did not need one. They said he had a pulmonary embolism and blood clots and pneumonia. Through various tests and a bone marrow biopsy it has been determined that he has a blood disorder, and rheumatoid arthritis affecting his lungs. He has been on a slew of steroids, and other medications as well as high flow oxygen. His lungs are slowly healing but he is still in the hospital and could be for a while. It is literally just a waiting game for his body to heal and recover which is why there hasn't been and other updates. We want to thank everyone for their prayers and generosity during this time and in the weeks to come. Also if you see my kids give them a high five or a hug because while this has obviously been the hardest for Matt to be stuck in a hospital for 3 weeks it has been very scary for them as well."
