Support the Stead family

Hi, my name is Bill and I’m fundraising for the Stead family. Please join me in supporting a good friend of mine and his family they navigate through unimaginable challenges.

Imagine a scenario where within a couple months, your dad was diagnosed with liver cancer, failed treatments, was placed on hospice, and then learning that your 17 year old son is being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. This nightmare is the reality that the Stead family is facing.

Fallyn and Duane have always put their family first. When they’re not doing all they can to support Duane’s dad, Vernon, they’re with Skyler at UVA for his treatments. Skyler has completed one of five required treatments, each of which are spaced 3 weeks apart. Each treatment requires a full 3 day stay at UVA and then a follow up treatment 8 days after, also at UVA. This is a two hour trip each way. The family is clearly doing their best to handle one of life’s most difficult juggling acts.

Thankfully, the family does have good medical insurance, but they’re incurring many expenses that they could never have expected. They have pushed literally every other aspect of lives to the side to they can focus on what’s most important: Skyler and Vernon. I know this community will continue to rally around the Stead family and pray for them while lifting them up emotionally and financially. The funds will be used to pay any uncovered medical expenses, replenish lost wages, transportation costs, provide support for costs incurred from the multiple overnights in Charlottesville, and to hopefully give their family some peace of mind and comfort during this difficult time.
